In 1976 Eric Wilson's Murder on the Canadian was first published. Since then the book has sold over 2 million copies worldwide and has been translated in over 10 languages. Its success has spanned three generations with parents who read it as kids passing it onto their children, and with grandparents who were the early readers of this great Canadian mystery story passing it onto their grandchildren!

In the Fall of 2023, the CentreStage Theatre in Kentville, Nova Scotia, presented Murder on the Canadian - The Play over several weekends to enthusiastic audiences, young and old. Director, Mike Butler said it was a dream-come-true to direct his favourite story from his childhood. The show was a rousing success and it laid the tracks for other theatre groups to jump aboard and thrill audiences in their communities with live performances of the play.

 

In recognition of that accomplishment and to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Murder on the Canadian, we are inviting any and all theatre groups anywhere in or outside of Canada to consider performing a live stage performance of Murder on the Canadian - The Play in their community in 2026.
